Wow - talk about life getting in the way of normally scheduled events! Suffice it to say - I've been MIA for a bit since I got home from California. Hopefully things are settling down a bit and I'll be back to the more routine aspects of my daily life!
So here we are - week ?????? of our summer reading tour. As I was sitting here - in the dead heat and humidity of a Louisiana summer, I kept being drawn to those quilts that looked fresh - airy - and cool! And with that in mind - this week's book hit that very spot!
Home Sweet Quilt by Jill Finley is an absolutely delightful book. It's one of those kind of books that you buy just 'cause you have to - the cover quilt captivates you and says buy me - buy me - buy me - and you do! But when you discover the treasures hidden within - you are SO glad you gave in to that inner voice and did indeed buy the book!
From the cover quilt to these beauties stacked on a shelf:
including this cool melon colored Petal Pushers quilt -
and the lovely Shadow Blossom quilt (which - by the way - I could TOTALLY see making with various light blue prints only - making the blocks look like snowflakes!)
There's just not a quilt in this book that I would not want to make! And - ever so pleasing as well - Jill has added a few "quickie" projects like table runners, pillows, and my favorite - kitchen towels!
Recommendation? If you're in the market for something to quilt that's perky - airy - cool - summery - springy - and all around BEAUTIFUL - then run as quick as you can to your local quilt shop and pick up your own copy of "Home Sweet Quilt"! You'll be happy you did!!
With a warm heart,
