I had the opportunity last night to attend a lecture and trunk show by Jody Barrows. What an in inspiring night! Jody, besides being renowned for her Square in a Square technique, is such a wonderful story teller. Listening to her tell the tales from her family heritage and being able to see a ton of her gorgeous quilts was a night I'll not soon forget! If you ever get the chance to attend one of her lectures, DO IT! Trust me - you won't be disappointed.
With a warm heart,

With a warm heart and funny furry, feathered, funky creatures by my side,
As always, the end of one year and the beginning of another bring reflections of the past and thoughts of what is to come in the future. 2013 for me had its shares of ups and downs, but thankfully more fit into my "UP" bucket! Hopefully for all of you, your scale was tilted in the positive as well and will continue that way!
New Years Eve will be a quiet one that I'll share with just hubby, all 4 dogs and 8 cats. I'm sure we will pop in a movie and share a glass of bubbly, but till then I decided to get a bit of handwork ready for the evening. I was "auditioning" the threads I needed for my wooly goodness when a voice came from behind me proclaiming that I had been nominated for an episode of Hoarders Anonymous. Now I ask you - does this look like the stash of a thread hoarder????
I didn't think so either. Unless you consider the fact that these are the size 12 balls, and I have all of the same colors in size 8 in the cabinet beside these . . . . But even then - knowing that little fact - I just consider all of my threads a healthy appreciation for Valdani perle cotton thread and color. At least that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!
Till next year, with a warm heart and color in my hands,
Merry Christmas y'all! I wanted to take a minute to say thank you to all of you - the quilt shops who buy my patterns, books and fabrics - my distributors who do the same! - Red Rooster Fabrics who lets me design for them - Valdani threads and Creative Grids rulers who let me design for them - my publisher who contimues to let me write books with them - all of the customers who have supported me as well as the the students that have taken my classes - everyone who reads my blog, facebook and twitter and as of late - instagram and finally, most importantly - my family. Y'all are the best, and I want to let you know from the very bottom of my heart that I'm hoping that you have the merriest, blessed Christmas and Happy New Year ever!
We're taking a little time off to enjoy our time with family and friends while gearing up for one huge year coming up! You'll want to stick around and hop on the ride - it's going to be a wild one for sure!!!
If you place an order between now and January 3, rest assured that it will be filled promptly when we gear back up on the 4th.
Till then, with a warm heart (and cold toes!)
